The graphic to the right illustrates the flow of work and authority among roles in a possible website production organization of about 40 people.

This structure can be scaled up or down. In a smaller firm, one person may assume more than one role. In a larger organization, several people assuming the same role may report to a director in charge of that role companywide.

The Customer Contact Team is shown in red.

The Corporate Management Teamis shown in purple.

The Operations Support Teamappear in green.

The “talent” in a web production firm, also called the Core Technical Team, shown in white, perform Project Plan Execution during the Execution Phase. They have a dual reporting relationship:

• Project Team Leaders (shown in orange) provide business focus.
• Senior Technical Architectsshown in blue provide technology focus and mentoring.
